This winged man has an attitude torn between high-and-mighty and extreme sadness because of the atrocities visited on his family. He's the only character who can use both attack and healing magic, like Noel of SO2. He's a bit more useful than Noel because his attack magic is better, but his healing magic isn't much better at all; he isn't really a replacement for Milly. His normal attack is surprisingly fast, but does almost no damage at all, so it's not worth thinking about. 8-) Joshua is usually quite good at Abilities, especially Music, Art, and Alchemy. He can't Customize or Smith though.

Obtaining Joshua: Go to Parj Temple before seeing the starship crash. If you have Fear (but not Cius or Ashlay) and visit Parj Temple, you'll have to choose between keeping both Fear and Joshua, or losing them both.

Earthquake

Earth-elemental. Huge boulders bounce down onto enemies for strong damage. An enemy can actually be caught under the last boulder and be stuck immobile for several seconds!
