August 28, 2010 - FantasyAnime is now on Facebook

FantasyAnime is now on Facebook!! Yes sir, I'm all about social media and keeping up with the times. Check it out! Don't forget, I'm also on YouTube and Twitter.

August 11, 2010 - Updated emulators, Seiken Densetsu 3 saves, NEW movies

• I've updated the following video game emulators: FCEultra, Kega Fusion, MekaW, & Ootake. AND I updated Mame32, which is now called MameUI. Why? Because they split it up into 32-bit and 64-bit versions. I've updated my Mame tutorial accordingly.

• I've added a complete collection of game saves for Seiken Densetsu 3 covering a quest with Angela, Carlie, and Hawk! This is thanks to the efforts of the one known as "Peaches", a member of my message board.

• I've added some new movie clips. To Phantasy Star 2 added the commercial for Generation 2. To Final Fantasy 6 added the amusing Final Fantasy 3 US commercial.

• I organized my Final Fantasy 5 screen shot gallery into categories. And the screen shots zoom in upon click.

June 21, 2010 - PSX RPG Torrents, Mario RPG Remix, MP3 Tags, GIMP

• My main resource for torrents went down, so I've refreshed all my PSX RPG download resources with new direct torrent links. That includes: Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy Origins, and Parasite Eve.

• Added a new fan remixed song to Super Mario RPG, called "Three Mushroom Dances". It's very good! It's a melody consisting of several tunes from the game.

• I confess that I've been one of those people who haven't really cared for tagging MP3s. But now that I have a sexy smartphone that sorts MP3s by album, I realized the importance and MP3 tagging and have hence forth updated the MP3 collections in my FantasyAnime with properly filled tags. Collections like Shining Force, Shining Force 2, Phantasy Star 2, Phantasy Star 4, D&D Arcade, and others.
• I updated my wallpaper tutorial with a section on GIMP, the #1 free and open source photo editor.
• My updates lately haven't been beefy because I'm still working on the new shines and other new exciting content.

April 13, 2010 - Those oh so sexy screen shots! And wallpaper guide

• My new thing is making it so that my screen shots zoom in 200% right on the page with a cool animation effect. I've applied such a script to the following screen shots pages: Final Fantasy 6, Secret of Mana, Seiken Densetsu 3, Chrono Trigger, Romancing SaGa 3, SaGa Frontier, Revelations: The Demon Slayer/Last Bible 2, and Terranigma.

• So if you checked out the screen shots page of my new Super Mario RPG shrine, you would see that I have set it up differently than what I usually do. It's like a hybrid of my old style and the dynamic gallery in my PSX shrines. I like it! And I'm getting good feedback. So I'm going to apply it to other screen shots pages. The first one that gets it is Final Fantasy VI! It's much better, eh? :)

• I made another cool 3D wallpaper! This time it's that awesome-looking dimensional room from Terranigma! Find it here.

• My default set of desktop wallpaper resolutions is 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x800, 1280x1024, 1600x1200 and 1920x1200. So what do you do if your resolution isn't part of that list? You're forced to pick the best size and stretch. No more! I made a tutorial showing you an easy way to resize images for your desktop! The link to this tutorial can be found in my index page under "Features". I'm still in the process of adding a link to it in every wallpaper section.

Upcoming stuff: I have two shrines in the works, my Tenchi Muyo anime shrine is going to get a hefty update, and I'm brainstorming a new look for the main page! Lots of exciting new stuff is on the way!!

January 24, 2010 - NEW SHRINE!! Super Mario RPG!

Yep, NEW SHRINE!! I have added a shrine for Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars! Included in this shrine is 200 screen shots, a full set of game saves, 90 pictures of official art, RSN & SPC soundtracks, 6 desktop wallpapers, a full set of maps, secrets, a detailed characters page (with video!), movie clips, and more! Best of all, I added the recently released "Super Mario RPG Revolution" patch, which gives the game a massive improvement in multiple areas!

And if you'd like to know the process I went through to create the shrine, I've typed that up in my latest blog entry.

January 14, 2010 - The great Snes9X has been updated!

One of the greatest SNES emulators ever made has been updated! Download it from my emulators page. This update has made Snes9X better than ZSNES! Yes, it's true. They added tons of screen renders, screen capture, AVI movie capture and netplay. They fixed various bugs. And the highlight of this update is that massive improvements have been made to increase the quality of emulation. I've re-worked my Snes9X tutorial to cover the new release and its new features.

January 13, 2010 - Hello Gens/GS & Imgburn! Saga Frontier art! VGM music!

• The time has come for me to say good-bye to Gens. There are several great emulators that have spawned from Gens, and I have added the best one: Gens/GS! It's basically the same thing, just better.

• To the music sections of Shining Force, Shining Force 2, Phantasy Star 2 and Phantasy Star 4 I have added VGM soundtracks! VGM is much better quality vs. GYM music (which I removed cuz GYM sucks).

• It's embrassing for me to tell you this, but that free burning software Burnatonce that I was recommending to you guys to burn Sega CD, TurboGrafx16 and PSX games via their CUE sheet actually didn't work. I just assumed it would when I saw support for CUE sheets - when in fact Burnatonce only supported CUE sheets created by Burnatonce. Sooo, I removed Burnatonce and replaced it with much better free burning software: Imgburn. And I tested it and certify it as having full support for burning games via their CUE sheets! It's more user friendly as well.

• I've revamped my SaGa Frontier art section and added 50 new (and large!) scans of official art. I also added 24 new cosplay photos.

• Updated RPG Lunch Break's NES section. Added Metroid, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1-3, and Legend of Zelda 1+2.

December 28, 2009 - New tutorial for SSF Sega Saturn emulator

Heheh ok so I lied. This will be my last update for this year.

• To Video Game Emulation for Newbies I've added a tutorial for SSF, the #1 Sega Saturn emulator! And the best part of this tutorial is that I cover booting Saturn ISO's with (free) virtual CD-ROM software, because SSF does not support booting ISO's.

• To go along with the new SSF tutorial, I've updated my download of the SSF emulator to the latest.

December 27, 2009 - FF6 Hardtype patch, RSN soundtracks, & more!

This will be my last update for 2009. It was a good year for my FantasyAnime :)

• A new Final Fantasy 6 Hardtype patch is here!! And this one is particularly cool for alterations like this:

"This hack has increased enemy stats, given the AI new (and smarter moves) while altering equipment and Espers. Equipment has been made more unique to each character, and certain characters have new skillsets - for example, Mog has Jump instead of Attack."

• To compliment my new extracted video game music tutorial, I've reworked all my music sections to it. And in the process I added RSN soundtracks to every SNES RPG. RSN soundtracks are sexy! They make it easy for you to convert SNES songs to WAV or MP3.

• I wasn't digging that gnome wallpaper I made a couple years for Secret of Mana. I deleted it and made two new wallpapers. I think they came out pretty cool; I Photoshopped him into nature scenes. Previews here -->

• Lastly, I have some updates to RPG Lunch Break. I've added the following awesome games:

Nintendo: Adventures in the Magic Kingdom, Adventure Island 1+2, Double Dragon 1-3, Guardian Legend, Mega Man 4-6, Spy Hunter, Super Mario Bros 1+2
Gameboy: Kirby's Dream Land 1+2, Mega Man 4+5, Super Mario Land

November 28, 2009 - Detailed tutorial on extracted video game music

• You know how I have my individual pages for SPC, PSF, GBS, etc.? No longer! I have consolidated my support for extracted video game music into the Internet's first thorough one-stop tutorial. Yes sir I have. It covers every detail Average Joe cares to know about extracted game music. I decided to have it as Chapter 6 in Video Game Emulation for Newbies. Soon I will be linking all references to extracted game music in my FantasyAnime to this page. Hence, I will be removing my famous Flea pages.

• Also, I have renamed all my ROMs to their proper ROM name, following the (nerdy) standards of the emulation scene. For example, instead of calling Tales of Phantasia "top_english.zip", it is now "Tales_of_Phantasia_[T+Eng1.2].zip".

November 22, 2009 - FantasyAnime is on Twitter! Plus updated emulators

FantasyAnime is now on Twitter! Actually, I've been on it for months. I'm just finally announcing it here, heh ^^;;  Given that I don't update my FantasyAnime frequently I'm filling my Twitter feed with translation news, relevant video game news, cool classic gaming stuff, and other related areas of interest. In other words, it's news covering everything a classic gaming fan would care to know about.

• I updated my hosted video game emulators to their latest versions. They include: FCEUX (Nintendo), Kega Fusion (Genesis), Ootake (TurboGrafx16), Kawaks (Arcade) and Mame32 (Arcade).

• For Ogre Battle: The March of the Black Queen, I made a sexy new 3D desktop wallpaper based on the battle screen. I'm getting better at 3D! Expect more cool 3D wallpapers for other covered RPGs.

November 8, 2009 - All SaGa Frontier maps + ISO is back up

Updates to SaGa Frontier:

• I've added a complete collection of maps! Finally. For a long time I only had half the maps up.

• Remodeled the characters page. Finally. The original page was like a decade old.

• I checked up on the SaGa Frontier torrents I had there in the Downloads page, and they were totally dead. I couldn't find any working ones to replace them. Well, I decided to put up my SaGa Frontier ISO again. Let's see how long it lasts this time (the bandwidth consumption tends to kill me).

September 23, 2009 - Last Bible 2, 1280x800 wallpapers, and Sexy FF4 Fan Music

We've got a HEFTY update here, folks! Move out of the way as the parade comes in.

• There was a sequel to Revelations: The Demon Slayer, and that sequel was Last Bible 2! It was only released in Japan. However, its fan-based English translation project came to be and it is officially complete! I've added some Last Bible 2 info to history, screen shots and the game for download.

• BIIIIIG UPDATE here! It was recently brought to my attention that 1280x800 desktop resolutions are quite common. Hence, I've gone through every wallpaper in FantasyAnime and made a 1280x800 version! This took me like a month to do, little by little. FantasyAnime actually has hundreds of wallpapers!

• Thanks to Overclocked Remix, we now have a completely remade Final Fantasy IV soundtrack!! It's called "Final Fantasy IV: Echoes of Betrayal, Light of Redemption". Check it out in my FF4 site's Music section. It's FANTASTIC! I highly recommend downloading it.

September 6, 2009 - Seiken Densetsu 3 game saves & new wallpaper

• Updates to Seiken Denetsu 3! Added a complete collection of game saves with Duran, Kevin and Hawk! I also added two sexy new wallpaper based on fan art.

• I added a new wallpaper based on fan art to Secret of Mana as well.

August 2, 2009 - 130 NEW SaGa Frontier screen shots
& Emelia's quest saves

• To my SaGa Frontier subsite I hath added 130 NEW screen shots!! I also added a game save containing all major positions for Emelia's quest! Both the shots and the save are thanks to efforts of the one known as "Danberado"!

• To RPG Lunch Break added Donkey Kong 1-3 (SNES)!

June 13, 2009 - Final Fantasy IV: After Years ~ info, official art & official trailer

I hath added coverage for "Final Fantasy IV: After Years", which is available on Nintendo's WiiWare. I've added some info on it, tons of official art and the official trailer. It's some really sexy stuff! The official art is especially gorgeous (below are previews).

May 20, 2009 - All FFL2 maps + SaGa 2 DS wallpapers, music & trailer

My Final Fantasy Legend 2 shrine is living it up lately!

• For the original Final Fantasy Legend 2 I hath added a COMPLETE collection of maps.

• For the NEW SaGa 2 DS remake I've added 5 new desktop wallpapers, a new MP3 of the title screen, a movie clip of the trailer, and better character art.

April 1, 2009 - Heavy Final Fantasy 1+2 updates, and FFL2 Remake stuff

Heavy update! Here's an unexpected twist - I revamped my Final Fantasy 1 shrine (for the most part). The History section is up-to-date, added 46 Dawn of Souls screen shots, Dawn of Souls world maps, 11 "special soundtrack" MP3's, every NSF/GSF/PSF soundtrack, full NES Final Fantasy world maps, the Dawn of Souls R0M, torrent directions for downloading Origins, and added a new wallpaper based on FF1's box art (preview below).

• Square-Enix is remaking Final Fantasy Legend 2!! Or rather, it's politically correct to call it the "SaGa 2 Remake". Naturally, I've got it covered with the info and media released so far. I've updated History; added an images section with screen shots, scans & official art; added 8 new desktop wallpapers (previews below); an MP3 of the remade intro song; and a "SaGa Series 20th Anniversary" movie clip.

• To Shining Force added a sexy 3D wallpaper of the Ancient's Shrine battle (preview below).

March 19, 2009 - Tenchi Muyo RPG is 100% finished!!

So the other day I mentioned that Tenchi Muyo RPG was fixed. The guy behind it was a ROM hacker known as Borderline. He was just getting started! Borderline went ahead and FINISHED the game! Tenchi Muyo RPG is now 100% complete!! The game now has all the bugs corrected AND it's fully translated. Cool stuff, huh? Check it out in Downloads. This is such a significant update in the game's history, so I updated History as well.

March 2, 2009 - NEW SHRINE!! Final Fantasy IX!

After 8 months of work, I hath completed FantasyAnime's 43rd dedicated RPG game shrine for the 9th segment of the great Final Fantasy series - Final Fantasy IX!! Included is the usual stuff: game info, character page with ability lists, nearly 1,500 screen shots, movies clips of EVERY CGI cut scene, tons of official artwork, world map, 3D sprites, music (63 MP3's, PSF's, MIDI), lots of sexy desktop wallpapers, a complete set of game saves and detailed directions on how to download the game (because it's too large for me to have for download!). Awesome huh? It's definitely a complete shrine. CLICK HERE to visit it!!

As usual, the site is designed very nicely. This time around I thought it would be interesting for you guys to read through the work I put into my game shrines by blogging my progress with my Final Fantasy IX shrine. Go here to read part 1 of my FF9 blog and here to read part 2.

February 13, 2009 - Fixed Tenchi, Dissidia art, FF1 saves, maps & wallpapers

• Tenchi Muyo RPG is fixed!! You know all those visual bugs the game has? No more! A sexy ROM hacker corrected them. Find this corrected version in Tenchi Muyo RPG Downloads.

• You know that awesome Final Fantasy fighting game coming out? Called "Dissidia: Final Fantasy." It features Terra and Kefka as playable characters. I added their official game art.

• My Final Fantasy 1 shrine isn't dead yet! I've added a complete set of game saves, thanks to the webmistress of VideoGameSprites.net!

• Added the FULL galaxy map for Cyber Knight - thanks to "Tropicon" of VGMapper!!

• New wallpapers! One to Arcana based on its gorgeous logo, one for Live-A-Live based on fan art, and two for Treasure Hunter G based on a vector-ization of Red. Here are previews:

January 15, 2009 - Tales of Phantasia PSF soundtrack, and I'm poor again

• I've added the incredibly sexy Tales of Phantasia PSF soundtrack! Somehow this slipped through the cracks - I meant to add it years ago when it first came out.

• I'm officially yet another victim of the USA's declining economy. Last Monday I was laid off from my job due to poor sales and budget cuts. :( I would be much appreciated if you clicked my ad to give me a small donation out of Google's pocket. The banner ad at the bottom of my homepage - just one click a day will do!

January 4, 2009 - Mother 3 sexiness

The translation scene is still kicking! Back in October they released the finished English translation patch for Mother 3 (a.k.a. Earthbound 2). I highly doubt I will make a dedicated shrine for the game, so I just put up the game and patch in my Earthbound downloads section.

November 1, 2008 - More Game Saves, fixed Live-A-Live and another Lunch Break

• Another game saves update!! Added complete sets of game saves for Final Fantasy Adventure, Sword of Mana and Arcana! This is all thanks to "Tropicon"!!

• I recently learned that my "fresh" Japanese Live-A-Live ROM was hacked since the getgo! All the characters were maxed out gods with all abilities learned. This is resolved and a normal ROM is now there.

• Lastly, new games to RPG Lunch Break! To Super Nintendo added Tertris Attack. To Genesis added Gunstar Heroes. To Game Gear added Columns and tons new Mega Man screenies. To Game Boy added Mega Man 3.

October 1, 2008 - BIG saves update, all FF Tactics maps, 3-players in SD3, and Lunch!

• Lots of new saves!! Added a complete set of game saves for Front Mission, Terranigma and Cyber Knight. And more are coming very soon! :) I'm on a roll here. A big thanks to "Tropicon" for collecting the Cyber Knight saves and "Peaches" for collecting the Terranigma saves - both members of my forum.

• To Final Fantasy Tactics I've added a zip file containing every 3D battlefield and background. Plus they're in different angles! Click "3D Maps" in the Square's Art section to find this so called zip file.

I've added a whopping collection of 84 screen shots, 18 official desktop wallpapers, 7 large beautiful scans of official art and 4 movie clips. In addition to the DS update are 2 new movie clips: GameTrailer.com's excellent Final Fantasy IV Retrospective video review and a movie of the SNES version's opening; and added a pretty fan wallpaper of Rydia and Rosa. Some wallpaper previews:

• Added a complete collection of Dual Orb 2 games saves, thanks to Tropicon!!

June 2, 2008 - Live-A-Live Translation v2.0 released!

The almighty Gideon Zhi of Aeon Genesis Translations has released v2.0 of his great English translation for Live-A-Live!! The updates to this new patch include:

• 560 kilobytes of English script: Twice the size of the original translation!
• Main dialogue, menu, and battle fonts are now fully proportional!
• Each chapter now has its own unique font - even the Japanese version can’t say this! Live-A-Live now sports a total of ten different fonts.
• Kung Fu names are now Chinese, not Japanese!
• Items, techniques, and equipment names expanded dramatically due to new fonts!

You can download it from his website, AGTP, or in my site.

May 25, 2008 - ePSXe & Pete's plug-ins updated

The famous ePSXe Playstation emulator and Pete's superb Playstation plug-ins have been updated. This is REALLY awesome because they haven't been updated in like forever. I have them for download in my Video Game Emulators page.

• Unfortunately, the Final Fantasy 7 ISO download I put up a couple weeks ago had to be removed. It got too popular. For now you'll have to rely on torrents to download it.

May 21, 2008 - Earthbound updates+saves, GBA Shining Force saves

• To Earthbound added a complete collection of game saves, two new wallpapers (previews toward right), a WMV version of the intro, and a maps section with 13 maps. I remodeled the shrine a bit, too.

• To Shining Force added a complete collection of game saves for GBA Shining Force: Ressurection of the Dark Dragon.

• This is a reminder that I'm currently unemployed and I'm so poor that my face is on a food stamp. I would REALLY appreciate it if you would click the banner ad on the bottom of my homepage. Doing so will give me a small donation out of Google's pocket. Just one click will do. Really, just one click - it detects your IP and only counts one click. But if you click it once a day it'll count! :) So please do so if you don't mind. I would really appreciate it.

May 12, 2008 - NEW!! Parasite Eve shrine!

NEW!! I've added a shrine for Squaresoft's Parasite Eve for the Sony Playstation. This shrine includes the usual bundle of goodies: game info, screen shots, movie clips, game saves, official art gallery (cosplay & fan art included), desktop wallpapers aaaaaand...    the game for download! Yep, it's all definitely sexy. Parasite Eve is indeed an awesome game and a worthy addition to the FantasyAnime RPG Family.

April 15, 2008 - Phantasy Star II MP3s

To Phantasy Star 2 added a complete set of MP3s (er, minus Noah's tune). In addition to the MP3 collections I have already added to Shining Force 1+2 and Phantasy Star 4, this 'completes' my Genesis RPG MP3 collection.

March 11, 2008 - Final Fantasy VII summon materia vids

• To Final Fantasy VII added movie clips containing the animated sequences of all summon materia! That includes the awesome Knights of the Round.

• This is a minor compatibility update. I re-encoded ALL the Flash in my site with that IE fix. So now you IE users will no longer get a security warning from my site whenever there's Flash present.
